The receiver’s Copy button deletes the server copy only after the browser reports success. A failed Copy keeps it available.

The decryption key stays in the link fragment and is never sent to the handoff service. The service stores encrypted text, expiration, deletion preference, and hashes of access tokens. It does not record who copied the text.

Keep the complete link private. Deletion stops future retrievals; it cannot erase clipboard contents, screenshots, or text already received. Concurrent receivers may already have opened a copy.

Private handoffs support text and code up to 100 KiB. Use a shared clipboard for files.
